Azygos was founded by Vijay Kumar who chose to transition from a successful 25-year corporate tenure to become an IP Consultant. A qualified Indian Patent Agent, Vijay has been working with several US firms to provide offshore support in drafting claims. He is involved in the areas of IP invalidations, IP Landscaping, Prior Art searches and IP portfolio analysis. As an IP consultant, Vijay has put to good use his continued involvement with technology throughout his career coupled with his Electronics engineering background.

Prior to coming into the IP space, Vijay spent more than 25 years in the IT industry. He was Wipro’s first Product Manager and introduced the concept of product management in the company. He was instrumental in setting up the software engineering center for Tektronix, USA at Bangalore. Later, he was the COO of Raffles Software, a subsidiary of a $2.5 billion Singaporean conglomerate.

Vijay was the CEO of Mindteck, a leading listed global embedded software company promoted by a global investment bank with operations in USA, UK, Japan & Singapore.

He was the MD of Manystreams, a VC funded US based Product company developing a platform to facilitate the new generation of Multimedia services for Broadband and Wireless. In his last corporate assignment, Vijay was the MD of Citec India, a subsidiary of Citec Finland, one of the largest technical information management companies in the world.
Vijay is an Electronics Engineer with an MBA from RPI, USA.

Azygos’ team consists of domain experts in varied fields like Wireless, Telecom, Video compression, IP switching, Digital design and RF. Several of these experts have Doctoral and Post-Doctoral qualifications and have taught and researched at leading institutions. By leveraging on their technical knowledge and channeling them to the IP field, Azygos has delivered customer-value in highly involved IP invalidation and patentability cases.

The team is well assisted by patent agents and prior art searchers who are experienced in variety of areas in IP and are well versed with various Patent search and analysis tools such as Delphion, DWPI, and STN.
